final-2-priests-2-dogsWe will celebrate St. Francis Day this Sunday with the Blessing of the Animals after the 11 o’clock service in the front garden on Fifth Avenue at 10th Street (around 12:30 pm). This is a special celebration of all creatures great and small so please join us. You are also welcome to bring well-behaved pets to church that day. Less well-behaved pets are welcome in the garden. Tell you friends! This is a wonderful outreach to our neighbors. Here is a link to photos of animal blessings from prior years. Sunday Services: 9am Holy Eucharist at Side Altar; 11am Holy Eucharist in the church with sermon, music & choir; 7pm Service of Meditations and Sacrament including chant, interfaith readings and communion. The 11am service includes special music by the Ascension choir (see listing on sidebar); prelude at 10:45am and postlude on The Manton Memorial organ.

We will celebrate the Feast of St. Francis — the saint who preached to the birds and called a wolf his brother — with the blessing of the animals following the 11 am service this Sunday, October 1. The blessing will be around 12:30 pm, giving those who live nearby a chance to go and get their animals; however, you are also welcome to bring well-behaved pets to church that day.
