Space Rentals

Close to the Union Square station and PATH train,
in the heart of Greenwich Village

The Church of the Ascension was founded in 1827 and has been a welcome home to New Yorkers and visitors alike ever since. The current Gothic Revival building was designed by Richard Upjohn, founder and first president of the American Institute of Architects, and construction was completed in 1841. Our beautiful spaces with their excellent acoustics have appeared in film and television productions and have hosted fashion shows, concerts and audio recordings, meetings and conferences, elegant dinners and festive receptions…as well as generations of baptisms, funerals, and many, many weddings.

This space is ideal for weddings, baptisms, funerals, and other liturgical uses, but also has been the welcome home for concerts, fashion shows, film shoots, and audio recordings, as well as various meetings requiring a large venue.
