Parishioners and friends,
As Mother Liz reminded us in her recent letter, “Church is not canceled! We are still the church!” This message is a reminder about our ongoing parish expenses and to ask those who pledge to continue to pay our pledge during this time as you are able.
Although the church building may be closed, we have staff who live on site and others who are working from home and only coming into the office when absolutely necessary. The Church of the Ascension continues to pay the salaries, payroll taxes and health insurance of all who depend on us for their livelihood and their healthcare. There are several options listed below, and the parish is actively looking into other, better ways to accept donations so that we may continue to meet our obligations.
If you have not yet pledged, please consider doing so now. You can make your pledge at https://ascensionnyc.org/stewardship/. Of course, virtual “plate donations” are welcome too! See below.
Here are the suggested ways to continue your pledge or donate at this time:
• Mail checks to the parish office (Church of the Ascension, 12 West 11th Street, New York, NY 10011)
• Credit card payments will continue to be processed as usual
• If you would like to make a wire transfer or Automated Clearinghouse (ACH) payment from your bank or set up a new payment by credit card, please contact the parish bookkeeper at bookkeeper@ascensionnyc.org to obtain the account and routing numbers
A note regarding Network for Good. Because of the amount of time it takes for us to receive deposits, we ask that you do not use Network for Good at this time.
We are looking at other online giving options and hope to have something available very soon. Thank you.
