Join with the Church of the Ascension, the Church of Saint Matthew and Saint Timothy and others from around the Diocese of New York on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at 5PM for a very special Evensong service. The service will be one of remembrance for those who died at the Pulse mass shooting June 12, 2016. We will remember all of the lives lost, including Latinx and LGBTQ lives, as well as share our strength with all those still impacted by this horrific event. The church is located at 26 W. 84th Street, New York City. Wonderful music and poetry will be part of the service. Throughout the month of June, Pride Month, the church presents an Art Exhibit that comes out of expressions from various Intersection: Faith, latinx, LGBTQ gatherings. For over a year groups of LGBTQ+ and Latinx people of faith have gathered and written poetry together. The poetry is in remembrance of Pulse, and about Pride and Faith. Visit the exhibit and read, gather, write, pray, meditate in this holy place. These events are co-sponsored by INTERSECTION: Faith, Latinx, LGBTQ; Fe, Familia, Igualdad: The Latinx Roundtable; The Center for LGBTQ and Gender Studies in Religion, and several Episcopal churches.

Quoting Robin Wall Kimmerer, the rector reminds us that “when we work to heal the earth, the earth heals us,” and invites us to deepen our love and commitment to our fragile, beautiful planet.
