Ascension members and friends are going to see the New York Liberty play on Sunday, August 27, 2017 in the afternoon. This is the professional women’s basketball team that plays at Madison Square Garden. We’re hoping to get a group rate, so please let Steve Hubbard (shubbard[at]nyu.edu) or Stacey Carpenter know if you can join us. It will be lots of fun, and a great opportunity to bring friends of all ages.
This week, the rector writes about the upcoming election, the sharp divisions in our country, and the attendant anxiety many are feeling — and what, together, we might do to help mitigate that anxiety leading up to Election Day, including many of the activities and get-togethers described in this week’s newsletter. (And the church will be open for prayer and quiet reflection from 9 am – 6 pm on Election Day.)
