the-return-filmAscension Outreach and Resistance Cinema Present: The Return on Tuesday evening, October 4th at 6:30 p.m. In 2012, California amended its “Three Strikes” law, shortening the sentences of thousands of “lifers.” See this unprecedented reform through the eyes of those on the front lines — prisoners suddenly freed, families turned upside down and attorneys and judges wrestling with an untested law. Our guest speaker panel will be led by Former NJ Governor Jim McGreevey, Executive Director of Jersey City Employment and Training, which provides “re-entry” coaching for those released from prison. The film screening will be shown in the Parish Hall, entrance at 12 West 11th Street, and is free of charge.
