On Tuesday, October 4th, Ascension Outreach and Resistance Cinema Present: The Return at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish House at 12 West 11th Street. In 2012, California amended its “Three Strikes” law, shortening the sentences of thousands of “lifers.” See this unprecedented reform through the eyes of those on the front lines — prisoners suddenly freed, families turned upside down and attorneys and judges wrestling with an untested law. Our guest speaker panel will be led by Former NJ Governor Jim McGreevey, Executive Director of Jersey City Employment and Training, which provides “re-entry” coaching for those released from prison.
