On Saturday, December 5th from 10am to 3 pm, a Quiet Day, Mary’s Yes and Ours, will be presented by Sr. Elizabeth Broyles CMA and Sr. Shane Phelan CMA. What can Mary teach us about claiming our lives and saying “Yes! to God.” Join us for reflection, conversation and praise. Enter into the story to prepare for a fresh, full welcome of Jesus our Savior and our God. Suggested Donation: $20; breakfast refreshments are provided and the church will provide a simple soup for lunch and participants are welcome to bring additional items to share. To register, email email@example.com or call (212) 254-8620. View the flyer here.
This Sunday, following the 11 am service, Ascension will hold its annual meeting. All are welcome to attend, whether or not you’re a pledging member of the parish. For this special Sunday, we will have three very significant pieces. Starting at 10:45 am, the Prelude will be perhaps the greatest masterpiece of César Franck, his Choral in E Major. The Offertory Anthem will be the highly dramatic and inspiring “In the Year that King Uzziah Died” by David McK. Williams. And the Postlude will be Bach’s formidable “We all Believe in One God.”
