dogsThis Sunday we will have a service for Blessing the Animals in the church garden on Fifth Avenue after the 11 am service (around 12:30, giving those who live nearby a chance to go and get their animals). You are also welcome to bring well-behaved pets to church that day. Our Fall Calendar of Events has information about upcoming programs, classes, films and guest preachers.

Reminders: Bible Study on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. with a journey through the Psalms and everyone is welcome. Our “Backpack Project” – The congregation is invited to join in a Sunday School project to collect new and gently used backpacks for school children in Uganda. On October 25, we’ll bless what we have gathered, and then send them to Uganda.

Save the Dates: The Ascension Young Adults Group will meet for brunch following the 11 am service on Sunday, October 18. Anyone in their 20’s and 30’s is welcome- join us, and bring a friend!

The Offertory Anthem will be the highly dramatic and inspiring “In the Year that King Uzziah Died” by David McK. Williams. And the Postlude will be Bach’s formidable “We all Believe in One God.”
