altar shot bless animalsWe will celebrate the Blessing of the Animals this Sunday after the 11 o’clock service in the front garden on Fifth Avenue. This is a special celebration of all creatures great and small. Big kids are needed to help with animals at the treat table and you can also have your photograph taken with your favorite pet.

Also this Sunday we bid farewell to Denise Kelly from our Ascension family. deniseDenise has been serving our parish for 27 years as receptionist, vocalist, choir mother, parish historian and all around go-to person for clergy and parishioners. She has dedicated herself to all of us as we have gone through many a transition here at Ascension. Please join us as Denise sings with the choir and we celebrate and bless her in return during the service.

Mother Megan is chaplain to Canterbury Downtown and staff in charge of the Episcopal Diocese of New York’s Young Adult Network.
