ash wed graphicThe Church of the Ascension will hold Ash Wednesday services at 8 am, noon and 7 pm. All services include Holy Eucharist with imposition of ashes and our choir will sing at the 7 pm evening service.

This historic Episcopal church is located on Fifth Avenue at Tenth Street in New York City. Whether you are drawn to our church for worship, music, art and architecture, or simply for a reflective moment of peace and quiet, you are welcome here.

Our worship services are based on the liturgies of the Episcopal Church, which use as sources The Book of Common Prayer and The Hymnal found in the pews. By following along in the printed service leaflet, you will find it easy to participate with us. All baptized Christians are invited to receive the sacrament of bread and wine during Holy Communion.

Ascension is a diverse and inclusive parish of people who gather

to proclaim the Good News of Christ,
to give praise and thanks to God, and
to serve our neighbors.

We hope that you will visit us to worship and to share in our Christian community.

Yours in Christ,

The Rev. Shelley D. McDade
Associate Rector, The Church of the Ascension

In a time of contempt for difference, Pentecost reveals the blessing of many tongues and the Holy Spirit’s gift of mutual understanding across culture, faith, and ethnic background.
