Each year Ascension parishioners participate in the The Children’s Aid Toy Drive at the New York Marriott Marquis. Toys are being collected from Wednesday, 12/ 4, through Wednesday 12/18. Children’s Aid will distribute the toys to each of the children on an individual basis. The Church of the Ascension will also be making toy donations to this worthy cause. A basket will be set up in The Parish Hall for the toy collection. If you would like to make a donation of a new, unwrapped toy, please drop it off in the basket, by Sunday, December 15. If you have any questions, please contact Tom Rice at Rockcent@aol.com or at Thomas.Rice@marriott.com.

Parish News: May 24
In this week’s newsletter, the rector notes Pentecost’s reversal of Babel—not by restoring a single language, but by enabling understanding across difference as each speaks and hears in their own tongue. She treasures hearing parishioners read “God’s deeds of power” in many languages during worship, and invites us to consider what it means to speak of God in our own heart language—whether shaped by mother tongue, place, trust, or profound shared experience. In a time of contempt for difference, Pentecost reveals the blessing of many tongues and the Holy Spirit’s gift of mutual understanding across culture, faith, and ethnic background.
