The Gospel of Eureka is presented by NEWFEST at the LGBT Community Center, 208 W. 13 Street) on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 7pm. Doors open at 6:30. Welcome to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, a one-of-a-kind oasis in the Ozarks where Christian piety rubs shoulders with a thriving queer community in this celebratory and humanistic documentary. Narrated with homespun humor by Mx Justin Vivian Bond, this lushly photographed documentary spotlights the space where the town’s seemingly contradictory factions intersect. The film is free for NewFest Members; others admission. A talkback session with co-directors Michael Palmieri and Donal Mosher follows. On Thursday, February 8th the film opens to the general public at the Quad Cinema and Mother Liz will be part of a panel discussion about the church and the LGBTQ community following the 7pm screening.
