On Sunday, May 13, 2018 at 12:30 in the Parish Hall we will celebrate Mother’s Day at Ascension with a conversation about Frances Perkins, the mother of the American social safety net, who said she achieved many of her results by intentionally reminding men of their mothers. Donn Mitchell, author of Tread the City’s Streets Again: Frances Perkins Shares Her Theology, will discuss Perkins’ journey from the settlement houses to the New Deal cabinet and the theology that inspired her work.
