This documentary film is a powerful indictment of the prison industrial complex and will be shown in our free film series on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, 7pm, in the Church of the Ascension at 5th Avenue & 10th Street. Director Matthew Pillischer explores the theory that mass incarceration has become “The New Jim Crow.” The guest speakers will be NYU Professor and ACLU Staff Attorney Jason Williamson and The Venerable William Parnell, Archdeacon for Mission in the NY Episcopal Diocese. Join us for this important film and some lively Q & A to follow.
