Ash Wednesday is just around the corner. If you have dried palms from last year’s Palm Sunday service please bring them to the church on Sunday, March 2. As we celebrate the Shrovetide season we will burn the palms and make ashes for Wednesday’s services. On this celebratory day we will also enjoy gathering as a community. Please bring a side dish or desert for all to enjoy at coffee hour after the 11am service. This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to participate in the teaching of Christ’s presence in the world and His great love for all creation.

In this week’s newsletter, Mother Liz celebrates Earth Month alongside Eastertide, noting how resurrection speaks not only to humanity but to “the groaning of the whole creation” and God’s determination to make all things new. She observes that when Mary Magdalene mistakes the risen Christ for a gardener, we glimpse the deep interconnection of all beings—and when we touch creation’s wounds with reverence and compassion, we meet God. Quoting Robin Wall Kimmerer, the rector reminds us that “when we work to heal the earth, the earth heals us,” and invites us to deepen our love and commitment to our fragile, beautiful planet.
