Deirdre Good and Katherine Shaner, Professors of New Testament at The General Theological Seminary, will lead the webinar “A Conversation about the Gospel of Jesus’ Wife” on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 from 7:30 – 9:00 PM. The webinar will be an informal presentation about a newly-unveiled papyrus fragment that includes an electrifying sentence suggesting that Christians in the late second century believed Jesus had been married. The fragment is intriguing both for what it says and for what it does not say. There will be ample opportunity for questions and discussion.

You may register online for the webinar at www3.gotomeeting.com/register/927391862

Dr. Deirdre Good, who preached the sermon last Sunday, is Professor of New Testament Studies and a graduate of the Harvard Divinity School. Dr. Good specializes in the Synoptic Gospels, Christian Origins, non-canonical writings and biblical languages (Greek and Coptic).

In that light, we are asked to choose what kind of power claims our allegiance—and to seek courage, compassion, and solidarity with our most vulnerable neighbors as we build beloved community together.
