Deirdre Good and Katherine Shaner, Professors of New Testament at The General Theological Seminary, will lead the webinar “A Conversation about the Gospel of Jesus’ Wife” on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 from 7:30 – 9:00 PM. The webinar will be an informal presentation about a newly-unveiled papyrus fragment that includes an electrifying sentence suggesting that Christians in the late second century believed Jesus had been married. The fragment is intriguing both for what it says and for what it does not say. There will be ample opportunity for questions and discussion.

Dr. Deirdre Good, who preached the sermon last Sunday, is Professor of New Testament Studies and a graduate of the Harvard Divinity School. Dr. Good specializes in the Synoptic Gospels, Christian Origins, non-canonical writings and biblical languages (Greek and Coptic).

In a time of contempt for difference, Pentecost reveals the blessing of many tongues and the Holy Spirit’s gift of mutual understanding across culture, faith, and ethnic background.
