Barbecue dinner on Wednesday, Tai Chi Thursdays & college student welcoming on Saturday. Join us for our monthly Parish BBQ on August 26 around 7pm in the front garden, weather permitting. This Saturday, August 29th, from 9am to 2pm we will welcome NYU and neighboring students moving in for the new school year. We will have a table in front of the church to distribute water, information about life at Ascension and Greenwich Village, and other giveaways. Please consider being a part of the group of parish members who offer hospitality and a spiritual home at Ascension to these students. As always, Thursdays bring Lunch Time Tai Chi classes which are held in the Parish Hall every from noon to 1. It’s a great way to exercise, calm oneself, and increase your flexibility. The cost is $25 per class or $75 per month. All levels and range of ability are welcome! If you are interested, call the Parish Office, or just show up! The weekday and Sunday service schedule is posted above right.

Parish News: April 26
In this week’s newsletter, Mother Liz celebrates Earth Month alongside Eastertide, noting how resurrection speaks not only to humanity but to “the groaning of the whole creation” and God’s determination to make all things new. She observes that when Mary Magdalene mistakes the risen Christ for a gardener, we glimpse the deep interconnection of all beings—and when we touch creation’s wounds with reverence and compassion, we meet God. Quoting Robin Wall Kimmerer, the rector reminds us that “when we work to heal the earth, the earth heals us,” and invites us to deepen our love and commitment to our fragile, beautiful planet.
