This Sunday, September 7th, the 11 o’clock service returns to the sanctuary with the Ascension choir and special service music (see sidebar). Sunday Services: 9am Holy Eucharist at Side Altar; 11am Holy Eucharist in the church with sermon, music & choir; 7pm Service of Meditations and Sacrament including chant, interfaith readings and communion. Also, the Summer Proclamation Series continues on September 14th during our 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services. There are several special events on the horizon including Rogation Day – September 21; Welcome Back Sunday – September 28; Blessing of the Animals – October 5; Haunted Church Halloween for children – October 31.

On the 25th anniversary of September 11, Mother Liz invites us to remember those lost, the first responders’ sacrifice, and the courage and compassion that arose amid devastation. Ascension will be open for prayer and reflection from 8 am to 5 pm, with bells tolling at 8:46. She shares a prayer from Bishop Allen Shin, calling us to confront hatred, resist violence, and make peace.
