Now at Ascension, EfM (Education for Ministry) classes will begin on September 27 in the ground floor meeting room from 6 to 8:30pm. Through scripture study, prayer and reflection, EfM groups move toward a new understanding of the fullness of God’s kingdom. This is accomplished by reflecting on both Christian tradition and the collective experience of the group’s members. The group will meet on Tuesdays September through May. Father Ed shares his deepened meditation practice from July, describing how simply abiding—being present without judgment—becomes a place of refuge and peace. While this personal solace is valuable, he emphasizes the greater intention of cultivating universal compassion and equalizing self with others. He invites us to reflect on our own refuge and how faith deepens our practice of loving-kindness.
