Lenten Devotional 2011For what will it profit them to gain the whole world and forfeit their life.

We can only gain a true meaning to life by accepting the Word that Christ has taught us.

Material things, while giving a temporary pleasure, cannot give us everlasting life. Only by accepting the Word of the Lord can we actually achieve the true meaning of life.

We achieve this by dedicating ourselves to the improvement of the human condition, by feeding the poor, caring for the sick and defending the defenseless.

Christ wants us to be there to carry on the His works and the help spread his message to the world at large.

Once we have done this, to best of our ability, then we can look forward to an everlasting life in His eternal and divine kingdom.

In a time of contempt for difference, Pentecost reveals the blessing of many tongues and the Holy Spirit’s gift of mutual understanding across culture, faith, and ethnic background.
