The following is schedule for the Lenten Forums which take place in the Parish Hall after the 11 o’clock Sunday service.

Sunday, February 17 – Healing Prayer, led by Mother Liz – An examination of healing prayer in scripture, and a conversation about the healing prayer ministry at Ascension.

Sunday, February 25 – Living a Life in Recovery: a Practical Approach to the Twelve Steps, led by Stacey Carpenter. The 12 Steps have helped literally millions of people recover from a variety of addictions. What wisdom do they offer for living a more whole, and holy, life?

Sunday, March 4 – Breath, Oils, and Sound, led by Allison Burns – A look at some of the healing modalities found in scripture.

Sunday, March 11 – Medicine and Ministry, led by Robert Brown, M.D. A pediatric oncologist looks at his faith, his vocation, and an additional call to the priesthood.

Sunday, March 18 – Healing the World, led by the parish clergy – What are the connections among the doing justice in the world, seeking reconciliation in relationships, and our own need for healing, both spiritual and physical?

Special Lenten Lecture, Thursday, March 15, 7:30 p.m. – The Spirituality of Dementia, The Very Rev. Tracey Lind. The newly retired Dean of Trinity Cathedral in Cleveland shares the insights she has gained following a diagnosis of early stage Frontotemporal Dementia. What wholeness is possible as our mental and physical capacities diminish? How can we embrace life fully and with trust?
